Privacy Policy

Heartbeats' Harbor ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it's stored, and your choices. It covers heartbeatsharbor.ca, the Heartbeats' Harbor community on GoKollab, our emails, and everything you buy from us.

Heartbeats' Harbor is operated by Brianna Beaumier (also known as Bri Leiðarljós and Bri Hosack), P.O. Box 1221, Gibbons, Alberta, Canada, T0A 1N0. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

We never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information. Not with advertisers, not for ad targeting on Facebook/Meta or any other platform, and not with anyone else.

There are only two exceptions:

The platforms that run the services you signed up for (listed under "Where your information is stored"). They handle your information only to deliver those services.

When we're legally required to, such as a court order.

What we collect

When you join the community:

Name, email, and profile details you choose to add in GoKollab

Your answers to the joining questions

When you buy something:

Name, email, billing address, and the plan or product you chose

Payment details are entered directly with Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

When you sign up for emails or fill out a form:

Name, email, and anything else the form asks for

Your phone number, only if you choose to give it

Automatically:

Basic site analytics (pages visited, device type, general location from your IP address) and cookies needed for the site, logins, and checkout to work

Why we use it

To give you access to the community, your membership, and your purchases

To send the emails you've signed up for: welcome emails, membership information, updates, and occasional offers

To process payments and manage your subscription

To add Anchors' Alcove & Lighthouses' Lookout members to paid Substack access

To understand who's in the community and how people find us, so we can serve you better

To answer your questions and support requests

To meet legal and tax obligations

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime using the link at the bottom of any email. We'll still send essential account and billing emails while you have an active membership.

Where your information is stored

We use trusted services to run Heartbeats' Harbor. Each stores or processes some of your information under its own privacy policy:

HighLevel (GHL): website, forms, email, contact records, checkout

GoKollab: the community, channels, courses, and live calls

Stripe and PayPal: payments

Substack: newsletter and paid Substack access

Some of these services store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

Live calls

Fireside at the Lookout calls are recorded in GoKollab's private live room, and GoKollab asks for your consent each time you join. Recordings are available only to active Lighthouses' Lookout members, and are only stored in GoKollab. People who attend who aren't active Lighthouses' Lookout members don't get access to recordings.

What members share with each other

What you post in the community is visible to the other members who can access that space. Please don't share anything there you wouldn't want other members to see. We ask every member to keep what's shared inside the community, but we can't control what individuals do. The members list is visible to other members, but it doesn't show your email address or other private information.

We won't use your posts, words, or stories outside the community without asking you first.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you're a member or on our email list, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, or accounting reasons. When it's no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

- show you the personal information we hold about you,

- correct it,

- delete it (except what we're legally required to keep),

- stop sending you marketing emails.

These rights apply to everyone, wherever you live. If your local law gives you additional rights (for example in the EU, UK, or California), we'll honour those too.

Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy authority where you live.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep logins, forms, and checkout working and to count visits. You can block cookies in your browser, but some parts of the site (like checkout or the member portal) may not work properly.

Security

We use secure (SSL) connections and trusted platforms, and we limit who can access your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Age Restrictions

Our community and services are for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll let members know by email or in the community. The date at the top shows the latest version.
